Terms of Service

Welcome to Tome of Legends. These Terms govern your use of the Tome of Legends iOS app and related services (“the Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
1. Who can use Tome of Legends
You must be at least 13 years old to use Tome of Legends (or 16 if you live in the European Union or United Kingdom). By signing up, you confirm you meet this age requirement. The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use.
2. Your account
You’re responsible for:
• Keeping your password confidential and secure.
• All activity that happens under your account.
• Providing accurate sign-up information.
If you suspect your account has been accessed without your permission, change your password and email us at support@tomeoflegends.co.
3. Acceptable use
When using Tome of Legends, you agree not to:
• Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users.
• Use offensive, hateful, sexually explicit, or trademarked names in your display name, deck names, or any other public field.
• Scrape, mass-download, or systematically extract data from the Service.
• Reverse-engineer the app, attempt to access other users’ accounts, or interfere with the Service’s normal operation.
• Use the Service to violate any law, or to infringe anyone else’s intellectual property or privacy.
• Upload content that contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
4. Your content
You own the content you create in Tome of Legends — your game records, deck lists, notes, and uploaded avatars. By using the Service, you grant Tome of Legends a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and share that content as needed to operate the app — for example, showing your game records to your friends and playgroup, or syncing your decks across devices.
You’re responsible for the content you create. Don’t upload anything you don’t have the right to upload.
5. “Ask a Judge” disclaimer
The “Ask a Judge” feature uses AI to answer Magic: The Gathering rules questions. It is provided for casual reference only. AI-generated answers can be wrong, incomplete, or outdated. They are not authoritative and are not a substitute for the Magic Comprehensive Rules or a certified judge.
For tournament or competitive play, always consult a certified DCI judge or the official Wizards of the Coast rules resources. Tome of Legends is not responsible for game outcomes, disputes, or rulings made based on Ask a Judge responses.
6. Wizards of the Coast and Scryfall
Tome of Legends is an independent, unofficial app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or specifically approved by Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Magic: The Gathering, the Magic logo, mana symbols, card names, card art, and all related trademarks and copyrights are the property of Wizards of the Coast LLC. Their use in this app is for descriptive and identification purposes only. Card data is sourced from Scryfall under their API terms.
7. Service availability
We do our best to keep Tome of Legends running, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted availability. Features may change, be removed, or be rolled back as the app evolves. Backend services (Supabase, OpenAI, Scryfall) are operated by third parties and may experience their own outages.
8. Termination
You can stop using Tome of Legends at any time by deleting your account inside the app (Settings → Delete Account) or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if your activity puts the Service or other users at risk, or if we’re required to by law. Where reasonable, we’ll give you notice and a chance to fix the issue first.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied (including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement).
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tome of Legends and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service — including lost data, lost game records, or disputes between players. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the past 12 months (which, for free users, is zero). Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction TBD], without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless local consumer protection laws give you the right to bring the dispute elsewhere.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and notify you in the app before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes go live means you accept the updated Terms.
